Reyn could be a fairly decent chess player. That is if he knew how to play the game. Sure, he knew the pieces and such but in truth he had never played the game. Reyn had never so much as seen a chessboard which made his earlier reference to it all the more amazing. If you placed one in front of it he'd probably be able to pick up the game fairly quickly or be completely horrible at it. The later was the more likely case as Reyn, while intelligent, had a problem thinking on the spot. His impulsive nature prevented others from detecting this problem though. Right now he turned that slow turning mind toward the problem of sneaking into his friend's home. It didn't help that she was tracing one of the larger scars on his chest. Reyn shivered, unused to being touched lightly on his chest. When he looked down he reddened slightly and looked away, trying to hid his current state of embarrassment.
Andee provided the solution though. He turned his head back toward Andee, coming face to face with a pair of bright golden orbs. The servant's entrance, of course. Reyn smiled with renewed vigor as he thought about his future journeys into the land of darkness. He nodded his approval of the plan. "That'd be perfect." he said with a grin. "Once I get there it'll be easy. Hopefully no one thinks that it'll be weird for you to meet some strange guy like that. It's not everyday some random guy in a cloak sneaks into the Queen's room." he said with a laugh as he rubbed the back of his head, his innocence showing once more.
His laughter and smile faded as Andee spoke of others coming to look for her. He looked down, his arm falling from her shoulders and resting at his side. That's right, in all of their talk of future meetings Reyn had almost forgotten that others would look for her. "I have to report in soon or I'll be counted as MIA." he said with a deep sigh. Reyn honestly didn't want to leave. He took comfort in being near Andee. She was the first woman that he could talk to openly. He cursed under his breath wishing their circumstances were different. If only he were a noble or if she had stayed a Light Elf or... Reyn's shoulders slumped. No, everything had been set up perfectly for them to meet. Any other collection of events would have left them ignorant of each other. Fate had plotted a course in it had been a path of blood and terror but it had lead them here.

She nodded and instantly wished his arm was back holding her as soon as it dropped. She shivered slightly at the cold and stood. Biting her lip she forced herself not to look at Reyn just then because if she did she might get angry, not at him, just angry at the whole situation. It wasn't fair. The world had shown her this amazing man and he was on the other side. She began to collect her clothes, pulling on her leather boots and other clothing. It warmed her slightly but not in the way his skin had.
"Then we should leave," the words were a hoarse ghost of a whisper. She cleared her throat and continued, slightly louder this time, "Meet me in a week from now at the servant's entrance of my castle. It's in the back of the wall right across from the main entrance, it's covered with a bush." She dove a hand into a tiny pouch hanging on the side of her belt and pulled out a small silver key, she held it out to Reyn, "Here this is how you'll get in when everyone's asleep. Come in at midnight no one will be in the kitchens then."
She leaned down, hovering over him and placed a kiss on his cheek once again, "For luck in whatever battles you have in that time and for getting into the castle." With that she began to turn to leave.

Reyn took a hold of the key and looked down at it, nodding at the appropriate times as Andee spoke. It was cold against his skin and rather ordinary looking though it captured his attention. Though, the feeling of something warm against his cheek was slightly more distracting. Reyn reached up and touched his hand to his cheek, realization sinking in a moment later. Again, his face warmed and he glanced down. Words wouldn't seem to come out of his mouth for a moment as it moved soundlessly. As Andee dressed Reyn sat and thought over how he'd make it to the castle. He waved the thoughts away as he heard footsteps echoing about him. He looked up to see Andee, fully dressed, moving away. He didn't know what to say. Goodbye didn't seem like the ideal thing. For the second time his mouth moved, making no sounds, his impulsive tongue strangely still.
Reyn jumped up and ran toward her instead. From behind he wrapped his arms around her pulling her into an embrace. "I'll miss you Andee." he said with a halfhearted smile. He held onto her longer than one should have held onto a newly made friend. When he finally let go he walked towards his armor and looked it over. He sighed, remembering that it was still covered in blood. "And have that armor ready for me." he said playfully, changing his mind as he started to clean the blood of his armor. It would be hours before Reyn was prepared to leave. After scrubbing his armor and boots and arming himself it was well past night fall before the young elf set off to report in for duty and receive his punishment for arriving late. Though, in his mind, the punishment was well worth it.
