It was this day, this very day she was sent into the forest to meet her Beast. Andee moved with the silence of the wind brushing through the trees. She paused, head tilted to the side as her intensified hearing searched through the trunks to pick up her Beasts footsteps but nothing came to her. With a sigh she headed farther into the deciduous trees and toward the the Mythic Pool. It was here she would find her companion. It was here she would meld her mind with that beautiful creature and forever be intertwined with it.
She stepped into the clearing and gasped at the beauty she saw before her. A small pool of crystal clear water, being fed by a short waterfall lay before her. Stooping she touched the surface only to have it ripple before her fingers even touched it. She withdrew her hand in surprise and her eyes widened as the reflection of a two headed reptilian Beast was shown. She paused, swallowing thickly and slowly stood. Even more slowly she turned around to stare into the Beast's glowing red eyes, one's that mirrored her own when she used her powers.
Tentatively she reached out with her hand to touch the creature's left snout and suddenly his mind was bursting into her's. It was calmer after a while, less painful, more like soothing and calming water. She grinned at him as he leaned into her touch and nuzzled her.
Hello, Andee, his voice said inside her mind, I am Wulf.
He lowered himself to the ground in an invitation for her to climb onto his back. Without a saddle it was a little awkward but she fit on top of him perfectly. Gently she nudged with her heels and he shot off through the forest, his long legs carrying both of them at incredible speed. It was so completely perfect. It was destiny.
