Rinoa Celthric
" Every little tear I was scared to cry, everything I feared but I kept inside, I don't wanna hold it back one more day, oh wash it away, every tiny thought clouding up my head, every single word that I never said, I refuse to feel ashamed, let it rain "
the basics,
»»character full name:Rinoa Celthric
»»age:23
»»sexual orientation:heterosexual
»»Alignment: Neutral though if ever forced to choose she would side with the Light Kingdom.
»»Position:Just a mere citizen doing her best to survive within the forest.
»»Magic:Rinoa possesses the ability to control the element of wind yet sadly due to her deteriorating health can not fully manage her power and is very limited with it.
the appearance,
»»eyes:Typically a vibrant violet but as time wears on and the sicker she becomes they’ve started to faded to a dull blue.
»»markings: There are a few, thin scars that run down both her arms from experimental medicine but otherwise she has no particular markings.
»»height: 5’4”
»»weight: 102 pounds
»»general appearance: Rinoa has a skinny frame clad with snow-white flesh. Her eyes are a violet though they have been beginning to change into a faint worn-out purplish-blue as she grows older and becomes sicker. At her birth Rinoa had naturally, wavy brown hair though once diagnosed with tuberculosis and due to some trial medicine her hair turned white. Because of her ashen appearance at times she has been mistaken as a forlorn ghost that wanders the forest at night for Rinoa finds the darkness to be comforting.
the personality,
»»likes:
*Dark, starry nights
*Nature
*Meeting others (though she lacks social etiquette)
»»dislikes:
*Loud, arrogant individuals
*Staying in bed and being indoors
*Experimental medicine
»»strengths:
Due to her illness as a child she spent the majority of her youth in bed so she took to reading to pass the time and learning. Rinoa is a very intelligent woman and despite her weak body has a sharp and strong mind.
Rinoa is a very calm individual and is able to keep a level-head in extremely stressful events. This may be because she has often been told that she will soon die but that prediction has failed to occur.
»»weaknesses:
Obviously her frail body is a major weakness of hers. She can not lift heavy things, anything ten pounds or more is too strenuous for her.
Rinoa doesn’t do as she is told, which to some may be a strength, yet because of her weakened state this is far from a good trait to possess. She is very independent and frequently walks throughout the woods. Now that she is an adult and no longer lives with her parents and must do her best to care for herself, Rinoa suffers from relapses more than ever as she does whatever she pleases and overworks her body.
»»secrets: Rinoa is an open individual and enjoys sharing her thoughts and emotions (when appropriate of course). It’s obvious to most that she is not entirely well.
»»general personality: Rinoa is an independent thinker, often trying to solve dilemmas by herself, and is somewhat of a loner. Not many besides family would come and visit her while she was confined to her bed as the local children were petrified of her disease as were others. Because of her lack of experience with other children she has poor social skills yet is not shy and longs to meet other people. She is very curious about the world and when she feels well she will venture out into the forest and explore. Rinoa is very calm and is not quick to anger though when angry she is a force to be reckoned with. She is very kind and understanding though stubborn and at times selfish (for she always had her mother’s attention).
the history,
»»mother: Gretta Celthric
»»father: Nodin Celthric
»»siblings: An older brother, by five years, named Julius Celthric.
»»others:No
»»background: At the tender age of three while playing with the local village children Rinoa suddenly collapsed to the ground, exhaustion settling heavily upon her like a thick blanket. She began to choke and splutter; heaving great coughs until blood began to spew violently from her mouth. The other children became frightened and ran to their mothers who quickly made sure they were safe within the house. One mother went to fetch Rinoa’s father who was a blacksmith and worked just down the cobbled street. He picked up the small form of his daughter and carried the sick girl all the way home, crimson fluid tainting his own flesh and clothes.
At the sight of her ailing child Gretta ordered her son, Julius, to run and fetch the local healer as she and her husband, Nodin, did their best to calm the sudden fever that had overwhelmed Rinoa’s body. When the doctor arrived he claimed that the girl had contracted tuberculosis and would most likely die within the week. Yet gradually Rinoa grew well again and after two months happily trotted down the street with her father, humming her favorite song. Yet the children avoided her and parents grew furious that she had even been brought into the village. Nodin desperately and angrily tried to defend Rinoa, explaining that he had been exposed to her illness yet stood before them in perfect health. Sadly after a few months he too had developed the disease and unlike Rinoa passed away after a week.
Julius was sent off to live with his aunt in northern Gira while Gretta tended to Rinoa. Rinoa was constantly told to rest and the girl greatly wanted to poke around and have fun. But her mother was right and even after light activity she would become feeble and start to cough. Julius would visit a few times a year only upon word that Rinoa was alright and visits from her older brother would always cheer her right up.
At the age of eighteen when Rinoa had officially become a woman she pleaded with her mother to allow her to live a few miles off in the forest, away from the village that had ostracized her. She wanted to taste freedom and live her own life. After much consideration her mother relented on the condition that Rinoa have good sense and take it easy, Gretta proclaimed that she would visit every few weeks and if anything happened to send word. (Gretta had purchased a small dove that could carry messages, at first the bird would send word to Julius informing him that it was alright to visit. She gave the bird to Rinoa.) And that is how Rinoa has been living her life but now with the tension between the Light and Dark Kingdoms, which has only sparked her curiosity, Rinoa has gone off surveying the woodland more than ever before.
