She wasn’t quite sure if Jamik was talking about the ball or going to live with him for unknown time. No matter he was meaning she still wanted to do both things. “Yes of course.” She said with a smile as she looked up at him. Hearing him talk like that was almost like if he only cared about her for being of noble blood. Thank god she knew better than that, or at least she hoped. She was of noble blood, but there was nothing that showed her that. She had no servants, she never had. She is living alone, without any guard. And most of all, she hadn’t even been proposed to someone, so how was she ever going to get married. It reminded her of her parents, and which basically was the reason why she had decided she needed to travel alone without her parents. It was a tradition of the family. She always had lived with her parents, and they would find a good partner for her, then if they would get married they would move out together. Basically traveling as a female alone already was something that was breaking so many rules of the family. But everything was better then marrying the person her father and mother had in mind for her. Alice was one of the few persons that didn’t really minded if a partner was not that super handsome or not, but the man her parents had tried to marry her with was maybe more then ten years older, if not more and the other part was that he was a sadistic and cruel man. She just couldn’t do it.
However it was her past, and she preferred to keep it for herself. Especially when someone like Jamik, really seem to care about the class in the society. And if he didn’t his father probably did. Alice always had been isolated from most of it, but because she had traveled allot she had seen enough. Knowing how important it was to have noble or royal blood.
Jamik asked her if she wanted to go walk with him as the sun was lowering, while the night slowly was making his entry. “Sure.” She said with a smile. She gave an order at Sadron to stay here. She did not needed to have a beast around her right now, and if there would get problems she always could call him. No she wasn’t a person that worried much about it. “No matter if they are from an accident or from a battle. It does not matter.” Alice said as she looked up at the man. She wanted him to respect himself how he was. There was nothing wrong with this man, but still he was so insecure and on his guard. “It really does not matter how you look like, those scars are just something you need to accept. In a time like this it is almost rare to have no scars.” She said with a weak smile. Even she had to life with a few. However she never told anyone about it and she didn’t had them on a place were everyone could see them. Alice saw how they were approaching the woods and she smiled at him. “Really, how can I make you believe me if I say I love you just how you are, with or without scars.” She said with a serious tone in her voice. She wanted him to know that there was no need to be insecure about anything.

Jamik smiled again and placed his hands behind his back. He followed her in a way, moving as she did and keeping his pace with hers. At the door he stepped to the side, allowing her through first. He glanced side long at her a few times, listening to the birds chirp around them. He didn't have a clue how wrong his way of thinking was with the nobles and how they're superior to others. But as far as he was concerned no one was superior to all others.
Ginny looked over at the big dog-like creature and tilted her head in curiosity before she got up and padded a long after her master. She paused to look back at him and tilt her head in question as if to ask 'Are you coming?' Then she squeezed through the door and walked after them, acting like a faithful dog even though she was a dragon.
Listening to her, Jamik snapped his head in her direction suddenly and stopped. He was surprised by her words.
"You... l-love me?"

“Yes..” She said with a smile on her face as she saw his shocked face. “Don’t act so surprised about that.” She said with a chuckle. “You’re handsome, even with those scars.” She said as she raised her hand again, letting her fingers hover over his face, not touching him yet. She did not want to upset him again, like the first time she had touched him. “I’m quite surprised you don’t have a girlfriend, or that you’re not married yet.” She said before she turned serious again. “You aren’t right?” He never had shared that with her so she wasn’t quite sure if it was true, so asking it was the best thing to get to know it. If he was married or was having a relationship then it was not for her to interfere. Alice was, compared with Jamik, and quite open and honest. She did not feared to say what she was thinking or meaning. It was something she had learned by being alone. A habit she learned from animals as she always was talking to them.
Alice noticed how Sadron was following the dragon as she could hear his thoughts louder in her mind. She had no idea how the connection was with the other persons with their beast, for example Jamik and Ginny, but with Sadron she always was hearing what he was thinking. They both basically were not having any privacy. Not that a beast needed it, but she preferred to be alone sometimes. The farther she was separated from her beast the thoughts were softer too. They were not overruling every other sound or mind she was hearing and having. At least Sadron was wise enough to give her that privacy as he cleared his mind on such moments. Not letting her notice he was there. Yet he did could hear every mind of her. Even right now, as her mind was completely in the focus of Jamik.
She slowly touched his face again, letting her fingers trail the scars as she moved closer to him, parting her lips as if she wanted to say something. Instead she moved closer as she let her lips touch the side of his face.

Jamik was surprised. He’d be called many things, most of them in the heat of battle, but never before had anyone called him handsome. He would have been if it hadn’t been for the accident. Clearly Alice saw something that most others did not. Or maybe it was just was Jamik did not see. In any case as she raised her hand to him this time he didn’t flinch, but merely looked past the hand to watch her face.
It seemed like an eternity, watching and waiting, her fingers hovering so close he could feel their warmth. She asked if he was married and he smiled, his eyes shining.
“No. I am not. And I’ve never had a girlfriend or anything of the kind actually.”
Finally she placed her fingers upon his cheek and he closed his eyes, resisting the urge to pull back in shame again. When he felt her lips draw near him and they touched lightly to the scars his heart started to pound. He wrapped an arm around her slender waist while his other hand took hers in it, holding it against his face, wishing to feel the touch just a little longer.
“I love you too.” He confessed.

Alice wasn’t quite the person that was driven by the features from people. Her isolation of being surrounded by nature and animal most of the time had learned her that the most important thing to love or care about was the personality and character of a person. Not really how someone was looking. And even so, this man was handsome but clearly he wasn’t accepting himself because of the scars. Seeing it as a real blockade of his beauty. She already was relieved that he wasn’t married nor even had a girlfriend. It surprised her even more when he confessed he never had been in a relationship before. It was hard to believe that because it definitely wasn’t his fault. The females probably were just blind to see, falling for the more macho types that were rough and stubborn. It was an distaste Alice had learned that she didn’t liked such kind of men.
When Jamik confessed he loved her to she smiled as she kept her face close to him. “I’m glad, that wasn’t so easy to say? Was it?” She chuckled once as she kissed him again, this time her lips were touching his. She felt a relieve now she had confessed her feelings to him, but also that he had confessed to her that he loved her. How funny how things were growing. They had met on the market on a ridiculous moment, but yet it was enough. Now she also had no worries about going with him to his manor to stay there. It was saver for her, especially now this war was going on and she would be with him. Until he needed to go, but at least he would be back for the ball. “I would love to go with you.” She said with a smile. “This only makes it easier”.
